“There are people with core values that see the world as a gift, those are the people that will preserve it”

“The people with vision and structure will grow it”

I Am My City Parks teaches how both can work together.

Free Summer Camps

Open to 1st–10th graders, this free 5-week summer camp offers hands-on learning in two tracks. In Motorsports, students build STEM cars and race cars while exploring career pathways in the automotive and motorsports industry.

In Environmental Science, students learn the UN Sustainable Development Goals and corporate sustainability frameworks, then apply real-world tools like soil testing to understand ecosystems firsthand. Introduction to motorsports and environmental science is taught in such a creative digestible way all students are welcome.

OUR STORY

PARKS (Provides Access Resources Knowledge Sustainably)

I Am My City Parks was founded in 2019, born from I Am My City LLC's commitment to giving back. Since 2020, we've been on a mission to bring beauty and life back to blighted communities starting with cleanups and park activations at a moment the country needed them most. When pandemic guidelines lifted, we got to work, transforming overlooked spaces into places where people could safely gather again and reclaim a sense of normalcy, anchored by free jazz feasts that celebrated local legends spanning the Motown sound to classic jazz and blues. From those humble beginnings, our mission has grown to include education: over the past four years, we've served more than 2,000 students in person, from ages 14-24 in our workforce development to now 1st through 10th graders, and reached over 100,000 K-12 students nationwide through our virtual education programming with our dear partners. Our story is still being written, and we're proud of what we've built, beautiful spaces, unforgettable sounds, and brighter futures for the communities we call home.

The Mission

Our Mission

Our mission is to continue the beautification of blighted areas work and expand our educational reach, teaching students to explore what's possible when sustainability and STEAM-focused learning intersect. We're building tracks for students as young as kindergarten through age 24, creating a pipeline that gets young people back outdoors, exploring, creating, and learning to think sustainably. Whatever career path they choose, they carry a mindset that puts people and planet first. We understand the critical role STEM innovation plays in driving economic growth, and we believe students can be well-rounded enough to explore that world fully without compromising the health of our planet. Our mission is to serve youth of every background and experience level, introducing them to STEAM career pathways built on a foundation of sustainability.
